Welcome to peachesspooderz! We're excited you've chosen one of our amazing jumping spiders. To help you provide the best possible home, we've put together essential care information covering everything from feeding to hydration. Our goal is to make sure your new companion thrives.

Getting started with your new jumping spider

Bringing home a new jumping spider can be exciting, and it's natural to have questions about their care. Our captive-bred jumping spiders have been handled and played with since i3 (third instar), making them comfortable with human interaction. The main things new owners often wonder about are daily hydration, proper feeding, and what to do during molting.

Essential care for a thriving spider

Here’s the must-know information every new jumping spider owner needs: never use water dishes, as your spider can drown. Instead, spray the enclosure with water daily to provide hydration. Start with an enclosure size of 4x4x4 inches, eventually moving up to a 3x3x6 inch enclosure as your spider grows. For feeding, offer fruit flies, mealworms, peanut beetle worms, waxworms, or fly bot larvae. Avoid anything with a shell that is too hard, as it can damage their fangs.

Avoiding common mistakes

One of the most common mistakes new jumping spider owners make is incorrect hydration and humidity. Ensuring daily misting and proper enclosure humidity is crucial for their health. During the molting process, it's important not to disturb your spider, but continue to spray the enclosure to maintain humidity. Our spiders are truly special, having been held and cared for by a 9-year-old, which often means they are more accustomed to gentle handling and human presence.
